Volunteering with SUSA isn’t just about having fun (which we do plenty of), but it’s primarily about introducing Jesus to a culture and world that does not know him. Join the team that’s been running the race of faith for over 145 years, and changing lives for Christ in the process.
From helping in the office or supporting events, providing breakfast for hungry students or taking part in a camp or school program, volunteers are at the heart of everything SUSA achieves. By providing generous gifts of time and talent, individuals and groups make an important and valuable contribution in everything we do.
Why Volunteer?
People volunteer for many different reasons. For some, it is chance to get out of the house and meet new people. For others it’s an opportunity to develop some skills or enhance their career prospects. Whatever the reason, if you can volunteer once a year or once a week, there’s an opportunity just waiting for you. You’re efforts will always make a difference to those in need.
Who Can Volunteer?
Volunteers at SUSA come from a diverse background and age range. The good news is that you don’t need to be a super-star to join. All you need is a desire to make a difference in the lives of young people, and agree to our statement of Aims and Beliefs, and Working Principles.
SUSA volunteers are ordinary folk who serve an extra-ordinary God making a difference in the lives of people of all ages. Normal, every-day people who want to make their part of the world a better place for all to live. People just like you!
You might be interested in leadership and hands on fun activities with Children, Youth, At-Risk, Camps, Schools, Community or Holiday Programs. Or perhaps you’re more comfortable working behind the scenes. Volunteers are welcome at so many levels. There’s always a need for skilled volunteers in the areas of; Administration and Reception, Project Management, Marketing, Design, Communications, Fundraising and Events Management, just to name a few.
If you are 18 or over, we invite you to prayerfully consider being an SUSA Volunteer. You can join the action as a leader for many activities. Leaders gain valuable, practical experience and are better equipped for ministry in their own church.
